Pitch Black Possible SIRs: Giratina Stealing the Spotlight with Darkrai Vibes?

Japan’s Abyss Eye drops in just a few days (May 22), and the hype for English Pitch Black (July 17) is already pitch perfect. We’ve seen the four main Pokemon ex (including those shiny new Mega Evolutions), but the real chase cards ... the Special Illustration Rares (SIRs) ...are where this set could shine brightest. The Confirmed Hits So Far We’ve got early looks at some premium artwork, including a stunning Mega Chandelure SIR that’s giving major spooky, starry-night energy. It’s easily one of the early standouts for collectors. Trainer cards like Gwynn are also popping up in SIR treatment. But the internet is buzzing about something else right now... That Giratina Full Art – Roman Pillars and Legends Arceus Vibes Word is spreading about a Giratina full art (possibly around the /081 mark) featuring classic Roman/Greek-style pillars in the background. This screams Pokémon Legends: Arceus influence - think Distortion World meets ancient ruins, with Giratina looking absolutely menacing....

Tax Day Chaos: WrestleMania 42 Matches You Need to See + Topps Chrome Football EQL Deadline

Happy Tax Day, everyone! It's April 15, 2026, and while most of us are scrambling to file those returns (or staring at the penalty clock), let's talk about something way more entertaining: WrestleMania 42 hype and a massive drop in the sports card world.

I'm The R in Krain over here at the Krain Sports Report, and today's post is all about balancing the pain of taxes with the glory of the squared circle and shiny chrome refractors. Grab a coffee (or something stronger if your W-2 was rough) and let's dive in.

Tax Day + WrestleMania? A Perfect (Chaotic) Pairing

April 15 is usually all about Uncle Sam, but this year it feels like the perfect warm-up for WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas. WWE even scored millions in Nevada tax credits for hosting the event ... proof that even wrestling promotions know how to play the tax game smart.

While you're e-filing or hunting for that last deduction, WrestleMania 42 is just days away (April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium). The card is stacked with dream matches, betrayals, and potential Show-Stealers. I've covered some of the big-picture hype in recent posts here, but let's spotlight a few matches I haven't deep dived yet.

Must-Watch Matches on the WrestleMania 42 Card

Six-Man Tag Team Match: LA Knight, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso vs. The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory) & IShowSpeed (with Paul Heyman)

This one screams chaos and social media crossover. Expect high spots, celebrity energy, and maybe a "Yeah!" heard around the world. Perfect opener vibes or mid-card banger.

Unsanctioned Match: Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre

No rules, no mercy. These two have been building real heat, and this could deliver one of the most physical, anything-goes brawls of the weekend.

Women's World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan

A personal, high-stakes title clash. Vaquer has been dominant, but Liv's resilience and cunning make this anyone's game.

Women's Intercontinental Championship: AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch

AJ Lee returning to big-time title action against The Man? Sign me up. This could be a technical masterclass mixed with big momentum swings.

Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: The Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend & Nia Jax) (c) vs. The Bella Twins vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

Tag team mayhem with four teams ... powerhouses, legends, and rising stars all in one ring. Expect spots that break the internet.

Other huge ones still on my radar for full breakdowns soon: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship, CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Title, Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi, and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women's Championship. The entire weekend is loaded.

WrestleMania season always reminds us why we love this: larger-than-life stories, athleticism, and pure spectacle. Even on Tax Day, it's a reminder that some things (like a good RKO out of nowhere) are worth the hype.

Don't Sleep on Topps Chrome Football – EQL Ends Soon!

2025 Topps Chrome NFL Football Jumbo Hobby Box from Krain Sports

Switching gears to the collecting side of sports: 2025 Topps Chrome Football drop ends today, and the EQL (Everything But Loose) window for Hobby and Jumbo boxes closes this morning at 10 AM ET.

This is Topps' big return to NFL-licensed cards, loaded with refractors, rookie autos, short prints, and that signature Chrome shine. Cover athletes include standouts like Cam Ward and Drake Maye. Hobby boxes are around $349.99 and Jumbos $649.99 via the lottery-style EQL system ... it's competitive, so if you're still in, move fast.

Whether you're chasing numbered parallels, on-card autos, or just the nostalgia of Chrome football back in the mix, this release is a big one for the hobby. Value, Mega, and Hanger boxes hit wider retail too, but the premium stuff is EQL territory.

If you score some boxes, hit me in the comments or on X (@DJrythaman) with your best pulls. I'll be watching the hobby chatter all day.

Wrapping Up Tax Day 2026

Taxes might sting, but WrestleMania 42 is going to deliver fireworks, and Topps Chrome Football is injecting fresh energy into football card collecting. Use today as motivation: file those returns, then treat yourself to some wrestling viewing plans or a card chase.

What are you most excited for this WrestleMania weekend? Favorite potential match outcome? Or did you snag a spot in the Chrome EQL? Drop your thoughts below.

Stay tuned to The Krain Sports Report for full WrestleMania recaps, card reviews, and more. Let's make the rest of April legendary.

The Bot Takeover: How Walmart’s Queue Systems (and Others) Are Supercharging Automated Checkout in the TCG and Sports Card World

Hey collectors, if you’ve tried snagging the latest Pokémon TCG drop, One Piece tins, or a fresh Panini/Topps sports card box at Walmart lately, you already know the drill. You refresh the page at drop time, get thrown into a “queue,” wait 10 - 30 minutes… and by the time your spot comes up, everything is sold out. Meanwhile, thousands of units vanish in seconds. Welcome to 2026, where retailer queue systems - supposedly designed to give everyone a fair shot - have instead turned high-demand trading card drops into a bot playground. What started as an anti-scalper tool has become the very reason botting and automated checkout tools are exploding. Let’s break it down. Why Retailers Rolled Out Queue Systems in the First Place Walmart, Target, Pokémon Center, and others introduced virtual queues during massive restocks (think Walmart Wednesday Pokémon drops, Prismatic Evolutions bundles, One Piece OP-13 tins, or Bowman basketball releases). The goal was simple: Slow down the flood of tra...
