Pitch Black Possible SIRs: Giratina Stealing the Spotlight with Darkrai Vibes?

Japan’s Abyss Eye drops in just a few days (May 22), and the hype for English Pitch Black (July 17) is already pitch perfect. We’ve seen the four main Pokemon ex (including those shiny new Mega Evolutions), but the real chase cards ... the Special Illustration Rares (SIRs) ...are where this set could shine brightest. The Confirmed Hits So Far We’ve got early looks at some premium artwork, including a stunning Mega Chandelure SIR that’s giving major spooky, starry-night energy. It’s easily one of the early standouts for collectors. Trainer cards like Gwynn are also popping up in SIR treatment. But the internet is buzzing about something else right now... That Giratina Full Art – Roman Pillars and Legends Arceus Vibes Word is spreading about a Giratina full art (possibly around the /081 mark) featuring classic Roman/Greek-style pillars in the background. Hope you had a solid weekend! We’re heading into a loaded week for card collectors across sports, Pokémon, and One Piece. Here’s your full rundown of the biggest releases and pre-order windows hitting next week (May 19-25, 2026).

Pokémon TCG: Chaos Rising Drops Thursday, May 22

This is the one everyone’s been waiting for. Mega Evolution - Chaos Rising officially lands in English stores on May 22.

Chaos Rising Pokemon set from Krain Sports coming May 22

Expect big Mega Evolution energy (think Mega Greninja ex and more), new ex cards, and that classic Pokémon hype. Products include:

-Booster Boxes & Displays

-Elite Trainer Boxes (including Pokémon Center exclusives)

-Build & Battle Boxes (great for prerelease vibes)

Pre releases wrapped up recently, so the full retail wave should be strong. This set has been generating serious buzz - it’ll be interesting to see how it performs in the current market. Will it be a hit like some of the recent heavyweights or more of a mixed bag? We’ll be watching the secondary market and early rips closely.

2026 Topps Dynamic Duals Baseball - Pre-orders or early drops around May 27.

2026 Bowman Mega Boxes - Retail wave hits May 27. If you missed the initial Bowman blasters, these are the upgraded Chrome Mojo versions worth targeting.

One Piece Card Game: Pitch Black Pre-Orders Starting Soon

Japan is launching its next big set (Abyss Eye / Pitch Black equivalent) very soon. Once that drops in Japan, English pre-orders for Pitch Black should open up almost immediately.

Expected English release is around July 17, but the preorder window will likely kick off in the next 1–2 weeks. This dark-themed set with Mega Darkrai ex energy is already on collectors’ radars. If you’re into One Piece TCG, get those notifications turned on ... these pre-orders move fast.
